  1. Wonderful, simply wonderful. It was my first time at a Play but you can rest assured that you will see much more of my sister and myself.

  2. This is one of the Best Shows I have seen at the Sprague Theater. The only other one that would even come close would be South Pacific.

  3. I just wanted to send out a big “Thank You” to the Bandon Playhouse for the wonderful opening night. They showed a lot of class by offering an Austrian treat during intermission to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the Sprague Theater. Coastal Mist did a fantastic job as well. And if you didn’t go to the show, you are missing something very special.

  4. I was very impressed with this show and the entire cast. I do not get out very much to watch these shows, but if they are all like this one, then I’ve been missing out. You will definitely start seeing me at more shows.

  5. Went Friday night and enjoyed it tremendously. The cast was excellent. The whole production was the most enjoyable musical I’ve seen in Bandon in nearly 30 years of living here, and Holly Hutton, she looked so much like my 8-month-old granddaughter we wanted to borrow her as a sister. What a cutie. Please thank Jeff, Dean and the cast for an outstanding job.

WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL My wife and I enjoyed the show and the great cast. Maria was very convincing and the children just a blessing to see. The Captain did a great job as well. Look forward to coming again.

I was very excited to hear about The Sound of Music coming to Bandon. It has been my favorite movie of all times. This cast did a wonderful job at protraying this famous family. I will be going again to see them.

WOW, what a cast. The kids were so cute and the young lady playing Maria did fantastic. Julie Andrews would be proud of the job she did. Even with learning at intermission she is fighting a cold.

You’ve got to go see The Sound of Music. If you don’t you will miss one of the best productions ever put on at the Theater. The entire cast was perfect.

  11. “Sound of Musc” is superb By Mary Schamehorn on the Bandon Western World

I wondered how the Bandon Playhouse would handle my all-time favorite musical, “The Sound of Music.” And I knew better than to worry. They aced it. It is a superb production, and one that everyone should see.

It’s hard to pick out a part, or a single actor, that I felt outshone the others. They were all great. I was sitting there in amazement wondering how a small town like Bandon could have so much talent, not only in the acting, singing, directing, set design, orchestra and costumers, but the overall production was absolutely stunning. The wedding scene was better than in the movie, with just the right lighting and ambience to pull it off.

I take it back. Little 5-year-old Holly Hutton, who plays the youngest of the Von Trapp children, thrilled the audience.

“The Sound of Music” runs two more weekends (Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sundays at 2), and if you haven’t seen it yet, be sure and go.

The cast and crew have worked very hard to bring top notch entertainment to the local stage, and the people of Bandon need to support them. Most small communities don’t have a group like the Bandon Playhouse, let alone a theater like the Sprague.

    We are, indeed, fortunate.
